One of the first big cover versions we did was Andrew Meller's recreation of "Insomnia". Last autumn, it was approaching the fifth anniversary of the release, so we asked Matt Sassari if he would like to remix it. He was a fan of Andrew's original and agreed straight away. By early December, he had a version he had been testing successfully. Then, at the end of the year, we learned the sad news that Maxi Jazz, the original vocalist and co-writer of the song, had passed. To give some background, we do covers because we are huge fans of the song. However, we are DJs at heart and make covers because we want to hear that song in a specific groove that fits the dancefloors we are playing now. Andrew Meller, Matt Sassari and everyone at the label are massive Faithless fans, and we do this out of a love of what they did in the 90s. Our covers are appropriately registered, and the publishing income goes to the original writers. That said, we wanted to do something else to celebrate the life of Maxi Jazz on this release. We know he was a lifelong Crystal Palace fan. To honour that, we will donate 10% of the royalties from this release to the club's charity - Palace For Life Foundation.
